World Cup Annoyance

I've been watching the world cup since I was 6.
Before then, I've played in the local leagues since I was 4. Royal Purple was the league of donated jerseys. Coastal Propane remained my sponsors until I was at least 12. My dad was my coach all those years right up until I was 16 and he got a full time job and decided I'd be okay with a new coach. I wasn't.
By the time I was in the last year of soccer in the city league, my "coach" convinced me it wasn't a big deal to continue playing soccer, because I was a girl and it 'wasn't like I'd go to the world cup'. I was 17 and aiming for it, but, fun shit.
Through that though, the thing I kept looking forward to was watching FIFA Men's then Women's World cup. This year was both an amazing watch and disappointing? Why? I kept missing the game until watching them lose on Saturday. Then my dog got into cooked chicken bones an hour later while I was out. He seems okay today but being at work is hard to do when you're worried about your almost 10 year old pup.
